Donald aka "Don"
A longtime friend of Bee's and ex-cop.
He became a police officer to help people, quickly becoming a Detective.
After the disappearance of Bee's friend, he took it upon himself to investigate this disappearance. During this time, he became disillusioned with the force, quit, and became a private investigator. Taking on whatever jobs he could, though his main focus became finding Bee's friend.
This focus eventually became an obsession. After Bee moved on, he accused her of giving up on them.
A regular at Bee's Diner, he was there every morning. Sometimes questioning other customers if they knew anything about the disappearance of Bee's friend, much to Bee's annoyance.
One morning at the diner, he sat down beside a new face after noticing the door to Bee's friend's old home was left open. Asking that new customer if he knew anything about it, before they could answer, Bee snapped at him, telling him to leave her customers alone. As Don got up to leave, he made a point to remind Bee of which of them gave up on her friend.
Soon after, a violent altercation broke out at Bee's Diner. After catching wind of it, Don checked out the old home of Bee's friend only to discover it ablaze.
Bee caught up with him there, claiming that new customer he was prodding was her old friend. Don with his obsession clouding his judgement, not about to let a possible lead go, believed her and helped Bee search the burned out ruin of her friend's home. They found remains of that customer.
To appease his obsession and to perhaps get some closure for Bee, he called in a favour to a forensics lab to identify the remains.
The remains ultimately couldn't be identified.
After watching Bee slowly decline and close her diner, he puts his obsession to rest.
For Bee's sake.
