Somewhere... an anomaly and its falsely-flavored thoughts are dying. Its focus of "candy never tastes like the real thing" was no longer sustained by "fake banana" flavor and blue raspberry; all thanks to knowledge of the Gros Michel, the truth behind Mystery Flavor Airheads, and Willy Wonka's pop culture resurgence. The darn snozzberries taste like snozzberies.

Somewhere... a collection of imported candies in the back of a bodega has ripped open, and a pack(age) of gummy bears melt together.

They meet. The anomaly thinks, "if you can't beat 'em... join 'em". It finds the new focus of "candy should be realistic". And in the storeroom of one NYC bodega, a new type of life is born.
Overcorrecting to this new focus, this anomaly wound up turning a congealed pile of gummy bears into a "real" bear, "fur"(?) and all.

Soon after... Rico, the bodega owner/operator, would find this New-Born, still half-gummy bear and help take care of him. From overhearing conversations with customers, he learned to talk (and the value of polite customer service).
One day, Rico faced armed robbery. Willing to sacrifice himself to protect his teacher, his guardian, his father figure... he wanted to Cover Rico. And Grow he did, sending the larcenous loose end running.

Eventually, through resonance and rumor, the Agency found and recruited Pan Dita: their newest Hotline operator.
