★ After Work ★
Characters in the Story: Basil, Dart

*This is my first SHORT story piece on FA, I hope you enjoy it! It's kinda simple and boring

After Basil's shift just ended, they said good night to their employer and the employees.
They walked away from the dark building that was slightly illuminated by the giant, red sign that read 'Bill's Burgers'.

As they walked towards the bus stop, (a cheaper way for the poor snake to travel,) they ran into Dart, likely one of their closest friends.

"Oof!" Dart mumbled, his eyes widening and looming down at the familiar, small and soft reptile.

"Oh, hey Basil! Just got off work?" He asked, his tail wagging in excitement.

"..Yeah, it was tiring. What- What about it.." Basil responded quietly and nearly monotone, giving a soft yawn after.

"Well, as your best friend, I thought it'd be cool if we could ride the bus home.. together!" Dart exclaimed.

"Dart, you didn't have to. I'm fine riding alone."

"Well, I waited a half hour here for you, and I don't have a car too, so.. yeah."

Basil's teeth clenched a bit, then they released into a sigh. "Fine. C'mon."

"Yes!" Dart exclaimed, sticking out his lizard tongue for a second.

The two reptiles walked up the steps inside the bus and sat together. The bus doors hissed shut and the vehicle drove away from the bus stop.
