LIKE LOWKEY I STILL REALLY LOVE THE ART EVEN THOUGH I DON'T LIKE THE PERSON ANYMORE
It's like... even if things became sour, the memories and joy involving getting the piece are still positive and happy. And lowkey I really cooked with finding the artists and drawing out the idea, it's almost a shame to not post it!
But also it would be super weird to post it like nothing ever happened, right? If I saw the other person post art of us now I would be like "ayo what the heck?" Honestly actually I wouldn't even be upset I would just be so curious about it hahaha
...I guess that no matter what I really can't post it anymore because then you guys would know who it is lol and airing out dirty laundry publically is super cringe. Damn.

I see it as history. I wouldn't remove art on my gallery of people I am not friends with anymore (Unless requested by them) So even if it stirs weird or bad memories, its memories regardless and thats kinda what art is for, tells a bit of a story.
Although if it brings up a story you'd rather not be retold, then you can let it rot away on your phone gallery :P

Ah yeah me neither! I have never deleted art in my gallery ever, unless it is spam. Keeping history is really important to me... I like to leave things as it is, it always bothers me to have things be deleted actually lol.
I'm mainly talking about stuff I haven't posted yet! It's a shame that they are not shown to the world because it is lowkey really good art

Sorta what I meant, personally I'd upload it so it becomes history. Otherwise it goes unseen forever. Although yeah, if you don't want the other person seeing it uploaded? I guess that is when its complicated lol, but if their not really a friend anymore then, who really cares :P
See that is what I would do, but I just don't want people to assume I'm cool/friends with the mentioned person. But at the same time, it would be scummy to post art and be like "this is art I got with Bob Robertson! BTW Bob Robertson and I are not friends anymore so don't think I posted this cus we are buddies!!!"
Oh wow. Yeah I used to use them as wallpaper as well and even had a little film setup to show multiple different wallpapers in a row. After that it was just default windows wallpaper until recently I changed it to something better x3

I've felt this a lot with certain NSFW artists I used to follow. Even if I like their work, seeing the other things they draw that I take major issue with taints their work forever for me.
It's not like these artists are going to notice one less follower ig.

I have the opposite problem with the stuff in my gallery, I actually don't have any ill feelings towards the art I have. It's more like sharing them would be weird, even though I like the art for what it is.
But I think it's different from artists you follow rather than art you commissioned with someone. Art comes from the very soul, so when you look at art made by someone you might not vibe with it probably feels a lot worse than how I feel since I am very detached from the character I am paired with in the art.

Art is worthless if it's not seen, just as money is worthless if it's not spent. If you like the piece and associate it with good memories or feelings, then there's really no reason not to post it, right? I mean, you can always specify in the description that it no longer reflects your current feelings towards the other person in the piece. Just something along the lines of "While I'm no longer on speaking terms with the owner of the other character depicted here, I still really liked the piece overall and never got around to posting it until now", or some other small blurb.
Haha, I suppose that is true but I do see it in my art gallery still! It's just that I love to share art and have other people see the things I commission as well. So it is a real bummer to be unable to post art that I love!
I guess the problem I have with your suggestion is that it kinda is publicizing drama even if I don't say anything, and I don't really like that kinda thing

Oh honestly I am completely moved on <:0 I don't want to post it not because I still have problems letting things go because I have completely moved on. It is moreso the awkwardness of posting art with someone you aren't friends combined with publicizing the fact you aren't friends
