I was trying to think of something else he used to say and I remembered.
Every time he would see a cranefly he would kill it saying 'These are mutated mosquitoes and they are deadly' So I had to save all the craneflies by putting them in containers when he was around so I could release them later on ;;

Yea ;; it was depressing.
Though it just strengthened my bond with 'creepy crawlies' when I got older since I tried to educate my (very superstitious) family members about all the critters I would bring in and photograph.
Thankfully now no critter gets harmed! Everyone has learned to leave house spiders alone and come to me if they want a cranefly or shield bug put outside <3

In England where I grew up, cellar spiders weren't called daddy long-legs, instead it was just craneflies and harvestmen. Considering the woeful state of cranefly mouthparts, I can sort of understand where that last part came from.
Man, Harvestman really looks pissed off.
I also had a friend of my mum's shock me a couple of years back by exclaiming: "Watch out, mosquito! D8" when a cranefly flew in the room. I thought he was joking for quite a while, but he really got nervous. This is a 40+ year old man. Eventually I caught it and tried to explain to him that they really are as harmless as fuck, and although they're the same order they're totally different to mosquitoes. He didn't believe me for a while, but both mum and I finally convinced him, and now we still tease him mercilessly about it by going: "Look out, a mosquito! TROLOLOLOL" whenever there's a cranefly in the house.

I've never even seen cellar spiders, but apparently they are called vaaksiaishämähäkki in Finnish (fun fact - vaaksiainen means crane fly and hämähäkki means spider... crane fly spiders? GO FIGURE) ... buuut yeah XD I imagine Harvestman would be picky about accuracy the way you are picky about the number of limbs he has, hahaha.
FFFFFF hahaha, oh dear!
And mosquitos! I don't really mind them anymore. xD I just hate the itching bites. Last night I saw a mosquito that didn't seem too enthusiastic to bite me even when I wasn't even going to swat her or anything. I woulda wanted to see how she'd fill up with blood but I didn't get to see that, grrr.
Or maybe it was a male mosquito??
