So many aspects of Pokemon get downright disturbing when you think about it... No wonder there's a whole page on TVTropes about Pokemon Nightmare Fuel.

TVTropes is a website that catalogs 'tropes,' which are genre conventions and cliches and similar things (they're more than just cliches, because some tropes aren't overused or annoying, and several are critical to even basic storytelling).
One trope is accidental nightmare fuel, which is stuff that wasn't supposed to be scary, but when you think about it a little more suddenly becomes horrifying.
One of the larger collections of this stuff from a video game is, of course, Pokemon, which has its own entire page of things that creep you out more and more as you think about them.

I read a good deal of that. Now you made me feel slightly guilty about my Pokemon Ebony and Ivory story. Umm.. why? I dunno actually...
