An ACEO commissioned by LoupNoir. This was a ton of fun to do because loupnoir gave the simple guidelines of a hummingbird with the theme of a reincarnated Aztec warrior per a common legend.
I chose to do a rufous-crested coquette (Lophornis delattrei) because their crest already reminds me of an Aztec headdress. The bird is sitting atop a macuahuitl that is resting against a shield. The bird's old weaponry perhaps?
