Just something I wrote while thinking tonight-most of the time I don't consider such scraps worth anything...but hey. It was an interesting thought, I daresay.

My mate came up with the term and concept for them, as it were! But I'd always wondered what would happen if one died-if their bodies took more punishment than their nature could handle.

Yes, a patchwork has remarkable regenerative abilities-the easiest way to kill one is to destroy their stone. But...I always wondered.

What happened if they died? Given they were put together with magic, anything was possible. And what happened if the effort was taken to do so much to them that they couldn't recover from it?

That's what came to mind.

Perhaps one day I'll do a full story to this...but hey, just wanted to share.
