Solaris: Night of the Predators - General Environments
At last! After over a month of hard work, I'm proud to present to you guys the first update (of many, I'm sure) to the video game I'm working on: Solaris! Woohoo! :D
Haha, well I guess I'm talking as if the game is already fully developed or something, but nope, still haven't even begun working much with video game software yet. Instead, I just figured I'd share with y'all some samples of concept art for the general environments. The way I'm planning to structure the game is similar to Zelda 2: you have a main overworld, and when a random encounter occurs, you enter a 2d sidescroller view, wherein you have to fight some enemies before moving on. That's what these environments here essentially are :3
There are some exceptions, though! The caves, for example, will act as the main conduits through which one must traverse to enter a different part of the map. So they're not necessarily random encounters, more like mini levels, if you will, with unique layouts for each one. Another exception is the boat/ocean and lava/volcano environment. The plan for those will be to have enemies of course attacking from above and below, and the player must lean into one side of the ship/rock they're on to move the vessel forward and onto either side of the screen, to exit the 2d view and go back to the overworld. It'll be a challenge to implement it, but I'll certainly try! :3
So yeah, overall, pretty happy with how it's looking so far! Some sprites I'm planning to have animated of course, the clouds and the water and volcano/fireballs for example. And there's actually quiiiiite a few more general environments I have to offer (at least 30 according to my computer x3). But I can't go around sharing everything now! For now, I just wanted to give y'all a little taste of things to come. Up next, I'll probably start working on the environments for either the dungeons or the towns. And once those are done, on to making the pixel art/animation for the characters/enemies! :3
Hope y'all enjoy! And thanks for being patient. I promise this folf has not quit creating vore or furry art/stories! It's just... I've never felt so passionate on a project before, and I'm having a lot of fun with this. But just bear with me: I promise I have many good things in store for you guys :3
So thanks again! And take care <3
