Astra is a bio/mechanical android created by the "Enhanced"
I am still working on the story for the first part, which is about Ethan and Luna with the super soldiers.

Part two would be the "Enhanced" humans who believed that using machines to enhance their bodies to survive the virus that targeted humans was the right option. To be fair, they were right. Humanity that spiced its DNA with animals still died out. "The Enhanced" calculated the time all humans on Earth would die out and soon return. They created these "Anthroids" (think Ara by Fluffkevlar) that they used as playthings to train, in case the spliced humans still lived to kill them off.
It would be several hundred years, and the enhanced humans soon managed to become something like "Synthetic" (think Mass Effect 3 ending, specifically the Synthesis option). The new "Enhanced" humans can almost bend tech to their will, and soon decided to create bio-mechanical androids to simulate the spliced humans.
Now, with the main question, I know many people will wonder. Can you have sex with it? The Answer is yes. But to prevent tampering with the genes, they made their artificial wombs only for birthing humans. And if you want more than one child, they could take the artificial womb out and place a new one inside.

Astra is one of many like herself used for pleasure and well, taking a beating in combat scenarios. The enhanced treated them very poorly, and finally, Astra snapped, then escaped through a pod back to Earth. The "Enhanced" did their best to prevent humanity or anything from leaving the planet into orbit or further with specialised satellites that shot anything down reaching 10,000ft. So when Astra came down to Earth, she was surprised to find "spliced" humans still alive. Later in the story, she discovers that the "spliced" did die out, but they created a new race to inherit the Earth. She finds out that the "Enhanced" would have a harder time conquering Earth because this new race is far more potent and deadlier than the "spliced".

Even though the Enhanced could hack the nanomachines inside the "Super Soldiers" (I haven't been given a race name yet), they can only hack one at a time out of the billions inside them. And if you think the "Enhance" would nuke the planet to do a hard restart, their central station, where they lived, has slowly been deteriorating. The Mars Project would still take 300-400 years to complete, and they don't have that time; returning to Earth was the only option.

Anyway, this story is still in its infancy, but I hope you like the peek of a future story.
