A couple of days ago a friend and former roommate Tugrik passed away. I lived with Tug for a couple of years in the mid 90s. In many ways Tug and his friends seemed to embody the spirit of furry fandom and seemingly boundless potential that was Silicon Valley at the time.
Tugrik was and individual of surprising complexity; although at first glance he could come across as being just a happy go-lucky goofball. He would then turn around and stop you in your tracks with a bit of very profound wisdom or insight.
It was him and several others who I now consider friends who helped me get onto the internet in 90s. He accepted me as a roommate at his house even though I was between jobs, and I have many fond memories of my time living with him. I will miss him very much.

This is a fine tribute, grand as life and stoic as stalwart granite (despite the inviting, comfy floof).
Currently attending his memorial service on FurryMUCK where this was raised to show to folk...it's wonderful work. Thank you for sharing it, and your own testimony, in memory of a unique soul.

I only just heard about this now. We played so much Planetside 2 together in the early days until 2015. It was always a blast, and when it came to driving Sunderers around (basically troop transports), we were practically of one mind at the time...
Rest in peace, good sir, may you always have two excellent gunners with you. For the Vanu!
