July 17th, the day the cultists & STEEL waited for.

Emilie woke me early in the morning, signalling it was time to go. The cave-ins were a success, and it was our turn. She instructed me to grab my gear, but carry light. I did so, but make sure to take my comm's tracker along with me this time.

Just like a couple days ago, Emilie led me to some green shards that when used, put us down in the mines. Unlike last time though, we were not alone. There were a lot of people here. Some obviously cultists, others looked to be allied with cultists. And there were others that looked nervous and scared. My guess they were forced or coerced into compliance, similar to what Emilie did to me. I felt for them, but I had to keep focused on myself.

We all surrounded this door, a few cultists pulled out stones and activated them. We were ordered to close our eyes and put our heads down. We did so. And about 10 seconds later, we were ordered to open them.

The room looked like it was before the orbital strike. Everything was intact. But notably, the current state of the place was still somewhat visible behind the present look. It was like the place was stuck in limbo between the two points in time. And in the past time, the door was open.

Maj. Anders on the comms called this a 'Time key'. My guess, somehow these cultists were able to revert this place back to a time when the door was open. Scary.

I was instructed to go inside. Emilie and a couple others followed me inside. As I was presumably the only wielder with biological enhancements around anomalous objects, yet had no power to for this object to take. I was the perfect guinea pig. I wonder if Emilie even realized her hypocrisy here.

But there it was, the object. Floating inside a machine. Smaller than I was led to believe, but still just as terrifying. Impossibly black with that green glow emanating around it. It looked damaged, cracked and broken in areas. It looked... unstable. And I was ordered to grab it.
