Moving in together just before a pandemic hits really takes a relationship through it's paces. We were together for each other and helped get through the harsh days despite being stuck at home together almost all the time. It was a clear sign that we could get through the worst of times together and still be happy. A sign that I couldn't let this girl go from my life. There wasn't anywhere like a fancy dinner or even a place to get a proper ring. Just a silicone band and an excuse of seeing a comet to go out to the place I grew up. A hill overlooking a lake and the mountains beyond gave quite the view as the sun set waiting for that starry night to show. Thankfully she said yes that day to my nervous dumb self trying to figure out how to say the words.

The pandemic continued and our lives didn't skip a beat with or without that elastic ring on her finger. There was no end in sight and so we got a court wedding performed with just a friend each as witnesses. The last year has seen plenty of hardships and despite not having our family there, this wasn't one of them. There will be always time to celebrate another day but no reason to wait to be bound. This time with proper rings and a bouquet. For now the best to be shared is that moment on the hill which the artist did an amazing job painting.
