Flamingo1986 (Zachary Rich) presents a 3-second animation featuring Mushu from Disney's Mulan done in traditional paper/pencil format (it's set to repeat endlessly).
Theme: Mushu, sad and alone, hears a familiar sound behind him and turns happily to face it.
Howdy everyone! Here's the first animation of the year for me done in paper/pencil that I actually felt was worthy enough to get posted in my gallery for you all to enjoy! It took me about 30 hours from start to finish. It would have taken half that time if I hadn't royally messed up and had to start over from scratch halfway through. This was the first assignment given out for my "2D Character I" animation class here at the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD). All I had to do was just have Mushu turn his head from right to left - but I decided to add in the emotional change as well. (And yes - he has no arms - I wasn't required to draw the arms since the point of the project was to turn his head - however, I plan on coming back to this in the future to add the arms in.)
Let me know what you all think! And stay tuned for the next animation of mine - it'll feature Pinkie Pie from the show "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic".
