Galaxy Cat is another new American recruit to the G-52s, and the latest female recruit as well; she is also the latest in a series of "Comic Book All-Stars." This group had also participated in a series of contests at a superhero-themed conventions, where the winners were guaranteed to be the stars of their own comic books, and the runners-up were named supporting characters. CNG had decided to make them superheroes for real.
Super C subsequently chose to add the winners as G-52s and the runners-up as allies.
Galaxy Cat is an example of a runner-up who got her own comic book series anyway because the judges from the three comic book companies in question (DC Comics, Marvel Comics, JJ Comics) liked what they saw and heard. The decision was made to make a connection to the universe that stars Cosmic Star (real name Olivia Barnes, who won the contest in that group).
