Jiya is the last survivor of Lemuria. Once a people with vast mastery of mythical energy after the event known as "The Great Annihilation.", The population of Lemuria was reduced to a handful of inhabitants and its territory to a small island full of ruins. Jiya was the last to be born. With the energized waters and the mystical garden they could stay alive and well for centuries. The survivors strove to preserve what remained of their art, science and magic in the hopes of rebuilding their society. They created the Sanctuary of Knowledge, in which they stored spheres containing the memories of Lemuria and also kept all the technological equipment that would allow them to continue their research. But they soon realized that it would all be in vain, as a disease began to emerge among them, probably a consequence of "The Great Annihilation." In some it appeared after a few years, in others it took centuries, but inexorably all the survivors died until only Jiya and her grandmother remained. Eventually, Grandmother would also fall ill, and she used her remaining time to instruct Jiya in her mission to preserve the memory of Lemuria.
In the ruins of Lemuria, there is no perception of time, so Jiya never knew the changes occurring in the outside world. One day, some men arrived on the island. They wore black uniforms and wore red bands on their arms with a white circle and a black symbol resembling a sun. For some reason, these men frightened her. Shortly after, another group arrived, and the two teams fought. The conflict destroyed and damaged part of the place, so Jiya used the magic of the place to create a safe area and expel those individuals, but the damage was inevitable. The lemur not only mourned the loss of part of Lemuria's memories, but she realized that she could not continue hiding much longer...
And yes a Lemur from Lemuria, it was entirely on purpose.
