So this was actually me practicing on a whole bunch of various things. First and foremost I wanted to try and actually try and work with the rule of thirds and constructing the image to guide the eye where I wanted it. And then since I haven't done so in a while also played a bit with line weight. And did that while also feeling like drawing a protogen. Originally was also going to try for a background, of something extending past the front arm to further accentuate the diagonal and then something leading from the front leg to the side for balance and create a mostly negative space in the middle. And then when it came time to actually try and draw the background my mind was all "Nah, I'm good. Let's just go to color and not worry about it." Then when color and shading done. "Okay, that's good enough, I'm done with this drawing." "But what about the background?" "I just said I'm done so I'm done."
As for my thoughts on the image, the anatomy is fine for the most part. Don't really have any complaints on composition and posing. I think i probably could have done more work on line color and most importantly I feel that I really did a poor job on the shading and highlights. That it just really reduces the quality of the image compared to if I did even an okay job at shading.
