So a couple weeks ago, my friend
seagullprophet requested that I do a picture of Asnaghall, and to put as much effort into it as possible. It's for, something. I don't know what yet... O.o
So, I took my time. Two weeks off-and-on working on this. Hopefully it shows!
When I stick Asna in high-fantasy settings, I usually put him in a fencing/duelist/swashbuckling class. I've doodled him as such dozens of times, but I don't think I've ever done a finished pic of him gussied up as a fantasy character.
Yeah yeah, it's not a red-border, but hopefully you guys'll like it.

I pre-wet the paper where I wanted the color (ie: not on the character) then dabbed in the watercolor pigment and let capillary action do the rest. The paint filled in all the watered-down areas, and only the watered-down areas. Also, any paint that went where I didn't want it I dabbed up with a paper towel before it could have a chance to stain the paper.
Holy shit dude. Nice.. I dig the impressionistic look of the trees in the background. But.. yeah man, incredible job on the detail of the wings, as well as the head..they really pop right off the page, To say nothin' of the outfit. Again man, the detail is incredible in the outfit itself, like the embellishment on the coat/jacket, but then all the shading value on the fabric folds.. it looks like something you'd see in the manual/box art of a Castlevania game (but doesn't look like it's 'stolen' from one)
One again, an incredible job over all. You're work keeps getting better and better with every post. Your style, as well as your color and pencil techniques, AND your imagination for coming up with the stuff you do, is definitely on a 'Professional' level these days. Nice one, and keep 'em coming.
