Now that I look at him, Chuck's voice probably does sound pretty gravelly.
And is Jeremy also attracted to guys with ear notches? I need to put together a panel of experts to weigh all these correlations.

No, he is not...Jeremy is always so worried and pissed that Sully "might" have been cheating on him with his own boss, because he would NEVER EVER dare to do that!; I mean, the lad is not blind, Chuck is pretty darn hot, but he already has one white man[noodle guitar] in his life and that's all the space he had for them!, no eyes for others once you got your partner, in short; loyalty!
You're right, but it's about more than loyalty. I intend to use Chuck to help Jeremy understand Sully better.
Jeremy is attracted to Chuck but he doesn't want to be in a relationship with him. For one, Chuck would never reciprocate his feelings, any more than Emmet would (Chuck is straight; Emmet is aroace) and Jeremy accepts and respects that.
Secondly, a romantic relationship with Chuck might complicate the positive relationship they already have. Chuck is already very kind to and supportive of Jeremy, but there's also an unequal power dynamic (again, similar to Emmet and Sully). Jeremy would have to bridge that gap in while still coming into work every day, and he's worried he's not mature enough to juggle those two aspects (evidenced by his reluctance to call Chuck by the nickname everyone else uses).
Thirdly, Chuck is supportive of Jeremy in a way Jeremy's dad is not: he respects Jeremy's life choices, and this draws him closer to Chuck. Once he realizes that he wants to see Chuck in this way—as a father figure—he'll understand why Sully is loyal to Emmet. Rightly or wrongly (Emmet is far from #1 Dad) but at least he'll understand.
