o yes nicely pointed, i have a distinction between 'domesticated' and 'anthros' in my furryverse, domesticated animals (like everyone here except the red one) have much stronger 'feral' instrincts, imprinting included :´]

even if it was an anthro, most animals (us included) bond to the creature that cares for them in the early stages of life! That seems to still be a child (if the species doesn't look younger than normal anthros that is), so even more reasons to consider this a very painful moment for them :<

Regardless of whether or not you do art of it (for real tho nw, its sometimes fun just to have all the ideas swimming around) I love love love the trope of the xenobiologist who just— oh, its a completely normal thing what are you talking about, why yes of course I used my own body to incubate the alien embryo, no i dont have attachment issues or find connections in literal xenos better than my fellow person or any number of other things, this is just completely science based normal behavior that in no way reflects whats going on internally (except, you know, literally internally as in inside-my-organs.)
