I remember one time, recovering from a VERY bad 'Flu' event, I was finally out of the bed, lying on the couch in the living room, watching TV/chatting with my wife, randomly scritching the felines as they came and went. I reached down for my cup of 7-Up, with a straw, and tried to take a sip. Air. Nothing but air? I was like, wth? Looked down AT the straw, and one of the little miscreants had CHEWED HOLES ALL ALONG THE STEM! I swear, as much as people might joke about folks with critters, calling them 'Fur children,' sometimes it's true!
(I can still hear my wife's laughter inside my noggin', and this was decades ago.)
