this is a rare moment of applestrike's height coming across properly yayyyyyy! she's smaller than average and hollyfang is bigger than average so theres a big difference between them. i dont often make good on "applestrike is small" 'cause i dont often draw her fullbody next to cats of average or large size

i was thinking about applestrike and hollyfang again recently and they are soooo weird and awkward with each other. applestrike doesnt reallyyyy, Like him. she thinks hes annoying and doesnt understand why he acts the way he does. both of them were apprentices of the Two Bad Guys but applestrike is persistent and pushes through stuff (to her detriment) while hollyfang gives in and submits to avoid harm (to his detriment)

when they leave the clans hollyfang is the one with the most medical knowledge so hes the one managing appletrike's recent leg injury and helping her figure out the prognosis and treatment plan so she can learn how to take care of herself and stuff. and it takes a Lot of thought and planning and care and applestrike has this moment of watching him incredibly focused and really in his element and hes. caring so much about her? even though shes never very kind to him. she isnt mean or cruel but they just dont get along. hollyfang enjoys his work as a healer and takes it very seriously AND he also doesnt HATE applestrike he just doesnt understand her

anyways applestrike and hollyfang are now in the "weird about each other" category. the way they perplex each other makes them a little obsessed with the thought of each other. hollyfang ends up leaving the coast alliance but they part on better terms
