headcanon moment for his glasses: i like the way he looks with glasses better than without, so to me they're prescription. he's self-conscious about them, though, so he doesn't wear them in ads or promos, or while on-air. since we don't know when he first got glasses or why (other than the pink and yellow ones being stated as "copying swatch"), i like to think he wears tinted glasses to better hide his expressions. what color they are is purely aesthetic. he changed the colors to match tenna's red and gold motif when they were business partners. the pink and yellow is an obvious connecting thread between spamton and the man on the phone (as well as friend), so the way i look at this is that his glasses don't change to pink and yellow until after he becomes a puppet to symbolically nod to his total sublimation into the madness phone guy is always inflicting on the guys he has doing his bidding. i feel him having pink and yellow glasses is thematically appropriate either before or after puppetification, but that's my justification lol.
