Yeah, scanning and photographing paintings is always a problem, especially when they are glossy - you can't get the lighting right to avoid glare, and in dim lighting the colors aren't right, you have to build a whole home photo studio for one photo =)
P.S. The first thought was that these were oil paints on canvas %)
