Whoopee! You not only took my suggestion but also restored his old beard!
That only leaves the obvious question: why does his powe ruin the molecular structure of the sample? Does he, from wha the description says, transfer the molecular structure on himself? If so, then ho would the molecular structure work wi the different atoms that make up Cole?

Oh! Now I managed to communicate correctly! /relieved/

That no-cloning theorem thing is interesting. /sincere/
My theory, in contrast, is the one I mentioned: Cole literally absorbs the molecular bonds of the original sample, hence why the original sample is not truly destroyed (because of the theories of conservation in physics), but merely gets turned into a more basic structure: the glass he absorbed turns into sand. Those exact bonds that he absorbs transfer to his own atoms while not changing the atoms themselves, which leads to him taking on the properties of the sample while he is otherwise unchanged: his entire body, including his organs, take on the molecular bonds and therefore properties of glass, but the atoms and therefore the rest of the functionality of his organs would stay very much the same.

Now that my confusion is gone, I can ge to the picture itself.
Having Prof Cole be chubby is a surprise. While you have plenty o fat characters already, having Cole be fat actually gives a bit of variety; because professors are mentally specialised, we normally would not consider them to be fat, a matter of the body. His classy moustache wi that rough beard emphasise that contrast. His haircut is also interesting.
Of course, the main draw is hi structure-absorption ability. My favourite part is actually how the structure-absorption ability destroys the sample, which looks hardcore. On a more intellectua level, the bubbles that show the molecular structure of the glass in both intact and isintegrated forms wi that neat pink swirl manage to strongly hint at his ability without using words. Tha transformation into glass and his clear, shiny glass body also look neat, and having his body be transformed while the clothes are not is a good attention to detail.

I mean that plenty of your characters are fat, and making Cole fat would be adding to that already plentiful group.
However, since Cole has an otherwise unique design, ability, and even profession, and since smart characters, let alone professors, are not normally fat, a fat Cole would actually break any design and character monotony.
I actually thought of this beforehand:

Cole coul disintegrate the sword this way, theoretically preventing any harm.

oh dang, are too many of my characters rounded?
i didn't think of it that way before, maybe i should change some to be slimmer.
updated Tial's dad Alfonso recently, to be more of a rectangular body than just fat

and yes, i should've thought of doing that with the sword, he was borrowing Darius' sword there but i didn't show how it disintegrates it

...you actually managed to pu things better than I did! I did not exactly fret your characters being fat, but rather having a lot of your characters with very similar anatomy. After all, a lot of your characters are skinny, bu they looks very different due to all of the anatomy differences they have. Meanwhile, Alfonso manages to look fat without looking samey because he has a mo rectangular body.
I imagine that it's a kind of scanning process, analysing the substance down to the subatomic level before he transforms his own molecular structure, the process disrupting the molecular bonds of the substance he's analysing so it's destroyed in the process.
A good showcase of Professor Cole's power at work and nice to see the old beard back as well.
