That description you gave reminds me of that one clip from World's Wildest Police Videos where a guy running from cops on a bike tries to run a red light only to smack into the side of a city bus. Miraculously the guy was able to get up afterwards.

What ever happened to Des? Does she still draw anthros? What exactly pissed her off enough to give the fandom the finger?

She quietly dipped out, but not before drawing that venomous rant folio a few years ago. She no longer draws anthros, and hasn't done so for several years.

She got tired of the immaturity, drama and bullshit and just decided she'd had enough.

Theres immaturity, drama and bullshit in life no matter where you go. She must get mad at everything.

Not really, but I think the biggest thing was that even if something is explained to certain people, they will clamp their hands over their ears, ignore anything you might have to say and continue to spout bullshit. I just learned to ignore it as pointless mewling. Des, I think, took it a little more personally and figured the easiest way to not have to deal with folks who acted like toddlers was to just get the hell outta Dodge.

I don't think she's regretted that decision.

As for my take on it, I just draw stuff every now and then and post some of it. That's pretty much the extent of my involvement these days. Heck, I stopped going to imageboards at the start of 2010 (New Year's resolution) since I really no longer had a reason to go. People couldn't pirate any new work because I was the only one posting it! All the older work has been online for years, so I didn't have to worry about trying to limit the reposting of my stuff (I now have control over what new material gets posted).

She does still draw, but nothing anthropomorphic. But I still try to draw anthro stuff when I can (because it's more fun than the "regular" artwork I usually do).

Aww, wish we could see your "regular" work. You have a great handle on other subjects besides anthros.

Oh, make no mistake, I only go so far. And drawing religious crap is an absolute no-no for me! The work is mostly scenery, wildlife and portraits.

I can understand Des' decision, but I miss both her and her "fur"sona. At least Jim still draws Des the chameleon once in a while...

Hmmmm, from what I've read about her past temperament and rants, I think she did the wise thing and jumped out of the limelight before she ended up being publicly destroyed online via the likes of websites like ED etc where one of the people she could have pissed off did a massive article on her and her past etc.

Unrelated, I'm still amazed you haven't been sued by Lockhead Martin over all these years, since they own the trademark skunkworks

They sent a C&D many years ago and I retaliated by pointing out the holes in their claims. This was back in the late 1990's, I believe. After that, they ceased bothering me, since they legally had no leg to stand on, and the information I provided strengthened my claim while debunking theirs. Haven't heard a peep since.

Oh and related to this, I love the porcupine character you do as Jim, fursona? I dunno.

Most people do them where they look so weird, like a dog/cat face cross with quills, yours has more of the rodent look they are supposed to have.

At one time I had the character operate as a stand-in of sorts, but I've since changed his last name, as he is not a representation of me.

That would be nearly impossible for anyone to accomplish; the only information I've ever leaked about her real life is her real first name. All other information has been kept off the internet.

Since that bike didn't have much in the way of storage space, I would often stuff the bag down my shirt, strap it to the rear pillion seat, or tie it to the upper supports above the handlebars.

There are these nifty things they make nowadays called backpacks. The come in real handy when you need to carry a load hands free ;p

Yeah, but I didn't always want to carry one. Besides, I wouldn't have to carry stuff for long. You'd be amazed at how short a trip to the store can be when you're clocking 140 mph down residential roadways!

I know it's a minor point but how would Onika's ears fit into that helmet anyway?

I have no idea. I kinda doubt Des thought of that when drawing this one. Maybe those black sections on her helmet are holes for her ears? I dunno, man.

I don't really have a "fursona". That character shares my name and a few of my likes/dislikes, but that's about it. His behaviors are not the same as mine, nor are many of his activities. I'm not a fan of "fursonas", so I don't have one.

Onika's species are called "Asar" which roughly translates to "Little one". They will always act child-like, because that's just how their species is wired. Even when she's 350 years old, she's still going to act like a kid.

Their typical behavior would be playful and inquisitive, kinda like a kid would be. But only the adults engage in sexual activity (generally starting between 19 and 20 years of age for their species).

Nah, I don't have a fursona. This is just a character who uses my name, but it actually quite different from me.
