Paper I used for this was this brown paper from an Earthbound spiral sketchbook. (Got it at a Barnes & Nobles.) I do the coloring while its still in the sketchbook since its not THICK thick paper and I like to have a bit of cushioning.
Uuuh but for things like art cards, or other stuff-on-white-paper I use Paris Paper by Borden & Riley. (I have to order it online cause the art/craft stores in my area don't carry it.) The Paris Paper is meant for inks but I like it cause its even more smooth than bristol. (Less fighting with paper tooth for detailing.) Its usually not AS thick as bristol but its still got some weight to it. Enough for me to work on a sheet with a clip board with not extra paper under it. (I prefer it that way with this paper type, otherwise there's too much cushion!)
Lemme know if you have any other questions! :D
