I’ve left an area of the map where I’ve placed some of the props used for this Dark Ride. This particular prop is the figurehead of a sunken pirate ship, which can be seen at the end of the second room. Since Pirates of the Lost World is set in a fantasy world filled with cryptids and dinosaurs living in the wild, some of which have been domesticated, I thought it would be a nice idea for many of the pirate ships’ figureheads to depict dinosaurs.
This figurehead represents a chained velociraptor, impaled by a sword, with a pirate flag attached to it. The entire statue is made of wood with metal detailing; the red eyes are meant to be precious gems, and the teeth are made of gold.
There isn’t any specific lore behind it, it’s just a generic prop. The name and backstory aren’t relevant for this scenic element, but you’re free to give your own interpretation of the ship if you like.
# No, these aren’t scientifically accurate dinosaurs, they’re more like JP-style dinos. As I explained in the first post, Pirates of the Lost World are fictional films created by Red Eye Corporation in the 1980s. So don’t expect scientifically accurate dinosaurs in this ride — I’ll be using the typical designs from “dated” paleoart and the first Jurassic Park trilogy. So sorry, but no feathered velociraptors here.
