Mewthree
I started doing this ages ago and just recently finished it.
I felt like doing a little fakemon design as a custom evolution design for a Mewthree concept. Since this is a common thing people like to draw designs for, as an evolution of Mewtwo, but you see people often like to make Mewthree designs like a more badass, cool and menacing version of Mewtwo. Sometimes with some elegance, but still for the most part using the same aspects of Mewtwo and makign them cooler.
I wanted to go in a different direction. I thought about Mewtwo's origin, how it was created as an attempt to clone Mew. Mew is powerful, but has a sweet and cute appearance. I feel like if Mewtwo ever reached a fulfilment of a character arc, reaching the pinnacle of its own emotional growth, I wanted to imagine it would shed it's rather malformed appearance (since it honestly looks like the base concept of Mew but warped with the addition of human DNA), and become a TRUE evolution of Mew, a successor to the origin of the Pokémon species.
In this form I feel like its psychic powers would be off the charts powerful, but it has gotten to a point where now it is relaxed and free, only wanting to float around, play, and just live to enjoy seeing the world turn and to see the whimsey and joy that exists between people and pokemon.
So what do you think of this concept?

It's listed as a fakemon, AKA a species design, not as an adopt or an OC, so I'd assume that means anyone is more or less free to make their own OC out of it, but obviously that's down to the artist. Some, I've found, tend to get possessive about their fakemon despite never using them as characters.
It's nice to see people break the mold with fan work. Too often it feels like we follow the same lines, and fandom is infinite really so it feels like we limit ourselves. This is a lovely design, the idea of following Mew more closely is a fresh concept and it looks like it would fit right in as a cannonical pokemon :D

I'm glad I'm not crazy in feeling like it was a bit one-note in what Mewthree designs looked like, but I wanted something more wholesome and closure feeling than just a cool pokemon youknow?

Honestly, one of the best parts of the design is that I sort of get an alternate universe take on what Mega Mewtwo X/Y were trying to do with Mewtwo's form.
The Y influence seems to come from much smaller body size and the thicker, more elongated tail with presumably stronger psychic powers than their base form.
But the X vibes comes from the fact that Mewtwo X has the ability to stretch out its limbs incredibly quickly to drastically increase the power and range of it's new Fighting moves... meanwhile Mew 3 here decides to improve it's hand to hand capabilities in the gleefully demented way that only a Mew could, by literally throwing hands!

I also tried to imply its heightened psychic abilities along with a hint at becoming "enlightened" by part of the patterns mimicking the 3rd eye.
So you weren't far off! But it's really cool to hear someone comparing to the games' designs like that :D
Heck, maybe that's even a precursor! Since those are mega evolutions of Mewtwo, maybe it's hinting at the two possible branches of aspects it holds within itself, whereas this is the "complete" and "whole" form enhanced.
