So there I was, face to face with the monster. It grabbed me with one of its lashing tentacles, and I pulled away as hard as I could and it fell to the ground. I had to splash hot coffee in its face for it to let me go. When it finally relented it let out a horrid blood curdling roar and lashed out at everything around it. The waitress was frozen in fear and Lucy hid behind her seat, so it was up to me. I quickly scanned the diner for anything I could use as a weapon, luckily I came across a gun the waitress kept behind the counter. I peeked out and saw the monster searching for me so I jumped out and got its attention, brandishing the fortuitous weapon. Then it did something I didn't expect, it grabbed Lucy by the neck and used her as a shield. As if to taunt me it violated her right then and there, who knows what that did to her but I had to be brave and save my friend! I couldn't get a clean shot on the monster so I shouted to Lucy that I had to shoot through her to hit a vulnerable area. It was difficult but despite all the writhing and moving, I took the shot through Lucy and it ripped through the monster like paper, the monster reeled back and stared at me like it was saying "This isn't over, Marie!!" and then it slithered away. I checked on Lucy and thankfully my aim was good enough to leave her with just a flesh wound, though I think the monster did something to her. She was acting a bit different since she got out of the hospital. Uh.. Anyway, I haven't seen the monster since so I assume it bled out and died in some gutter somewhere.
