"The sheltered rose needs a little room to bloom outside her bedroom."A little bit of personal art I snuck in this past week, just for fun and so I'd have something to work on at IHOP. The elvish writing around the edge is part of that quote (part, because I ran out of room lol). Kudos to anyone who knows where that line is from. ;)

Heh, I'm still kinda learning, but the book I was using as a reference had them that way and I find it easier to write that way than trying to figure out all the little dots and slashes and stuff. I'm sure there are errors but most people won't know the difference. ;) lol
No errors. Your choice to de-emphasize ascenders causes it to look a little different from what I usually see. This is mainly in your "s"s, which are usually written with the bowl on the line, like an open "6". If there had been an "h" in the text, it would have looked a lot like an "e". Considering how easy it is to swap "t" and "p", "d" and "b", "m" and "n", (I do that all the time, and so does Christopher Tolkien), you did very well.
Yes, much of the online stuff is even more pedantic than Tolkien's appendices. Here is a very basic one: http://www.telefonica.net/web2/jmtr...../index.en.html
Probably not as good as what you have, but I couldn't find anything between that and <eyes glaze over>.
Feel free to note me any time. I'll try to keep my geekery down to a dull roar

Here's one more link, showing basic calligraphy methods for writing the letters: http://at.mansbjorkman.net/teng_calligraphy.htm
I found it accessible, despite being on one of the pedantic sites, but that may be because I took a calligraphy course in dim prehistory (7th grade).
