A significant, and likely final redesign to my gryphon (albiet I might change it slightly eventually). Teebs 3.0 is still canon, and is just his younger self. The designs compliment each other https://www.furaffinity.net/view/43898646/ !
One of the last of the pure-blooded Aetergris (the wingless ones) descended from the empire of the gryphonic Aeteri, many of the remnants of gryphonkind have long assimilated into the other population of birdfolk (Aurantar) leaving a small generation of hybrids. The Aetervestis (the winged ones) once had an empire that ruled from the Craghelm mountains, and their open defiance of the gods had led to much of the Aeteri being banished or destroyed with an exception of rare few that survived the carnage. Teebs' parents were some of those few, the remaining survivors were inflicted with a curse reducing them to wingless Aetergris who could never again soar into the skies and conquer. It is within this reality that he found himself alone in the world after his parents passed away, finding solace in magic and knowledge for good or ill. He has been there to witness the rise and fall of empires, and he himself has changed drastically between the different phases of his adventures, from being host to Murkmites, a servant to a radiant naga emperor, turned into a demon, or infused with the power of the void. From these trials he finally arose defiant against a world that threw everything at him. Now, instead of learning, he teaches and records new records and magic of his own. He teaches a new generation of mages with the lessons of his countless experience. He is the narrator of my world and stories.
He is Sol Aeteris, the final light of the Aeteri, a watcher in a world that has moved on past the legacy of his people. He has battled countless corruptions in the world, he has made it from hell and back (literally). This version of Teebs is his final state before he would fall to the sands of time, a mind hardened by countless encounters and knowledge. One who has vanquished the curse of curiosity inflicted by Xanithar, and mastered the many domains of magic with absolute certainty. Interestingly, his favoured element is that of light, pure and unyielding, to smite away those who would dare challenge his mastery. Of course he is as confident and snarky as ever, “Let the plebeians admire my flowing locks; and let them weep in their jealousy” - Teebs, probobly.~
And so ends the legacy of one so ancient, history itself does not remember a time in his absence.
... and yes, his mane did get larger, why do you ask?
Teebs is actually short of Tibalt! That's a new lore factoid for you there too.
