Original Species: Tweezerbill
The Tweezerbill is yet another flightless wyvern from Shangrila. It is the larger and more specialized relative of the Crawbane. Much like its more graceful cousin, it stalks the swamplands of Northern Shangrila. However, instead of going after Mucraws, it hunts for smaller prey.
By using its long, tweezers-like beak, it can probe into the bud and grime of the marshlands in search of slugs, clams, small shrimp, and other minuscule morsels. The sheer amount of grub available in the marshes is enough to sustain a very healthy and fairly numerous population of these beaked brutes.
However, during particularly harsh droughts, when food becomes increasingly scarce, some individuals have been observed to migrate to the coast in search of sustenance. Those are typically younger and weaker individuals who have a harder time competing with their stronger peers for resources. When the rains come and food becomes abundant again, those individuals return to their original territories.
