Ernesto through the use of audio assisted research (fun fact, he can’t read that well) learned about a shipwreck from the 1600s that had many migrants from a faraway region coming to Nordavia, but was struck by a massive North Sea storm, and went down taking all the passengers and crews lives, some of their bodies and some small debris washing ashore in the Norresgårfjörd Shore sadly where the indications as to what had happened
The wreck was lost for centuries with only minimal an idea wherein it could be, and with how rough the seas and weather can be… it’s made looking for the wreck for centuries a major task that involved tracking currents and wind patterns
Enter Ernesto, one of Nordavias elite four
A water type specialist who spends most of his time in the regions seas, lakes, and rivers most of the time anyways and decided to patrol the seabeds for days soon weeks on end, always making sure he mapped out the areas ruled out with his Rotom Phone which thankfully they’re water and pressure proof.
But Ernesto upon finding the wreck, knew he had to take some artifacts because he knew this was a major historical find! His exploration would mark the first time anyone alive would see anything from the ship in just barely over 400 years!
Ernesto thought at most he’d get like, a doorknob, a candle holder, a few plates, bowls, & bottles, silverware, if he got super lucky, maybe a violin, a few shoes, a suitcase, and some jewelry
What he didn’t expect? Any of the migrants to bring their entire wealth with them, and have said wealth be so large! according to surviving records and reported family and friends testimony of the passengers, nearly all aboard where poor and in search of opportunities elsewhere, the others fleeing from conflict in the region they’d come from
Clearly one of the conflict weary passengers had a lot more to their name than anyone even in that era thought, or had been willing to report, Ernesto clearly here is able to realize that such a massive fortune being on board this vessel when it sank could potentially change the subject trajectory of conversations of who was migrating to Nordavia and why in that era!
See, even a buff himbo can make great historical, academic, and cultural contributions!
