That's it for chapter one! (Sorry this one's a little late, it is still technically Sunday in my timezone, Lol.)

Looking back at this chapter, there are several pages I wish looked better... but I promised myself I wouldn't redo anything until the whole comic is finished. On that fateful day I'll pick my top 10 least favorite pages and go ham. Until then, I soldier on.

I've got the cover art for chapter two finished, the first six pages sketched out, and the first page partly rendered. I'd hoped to be further along by this point, but selling at two cons and doing artfight slowed down my progress considerably. (Still, I had fun, so I can't complain.)

The second chapter will be similar in length to the first, so I anticipate it will take 12-14 months before I finish it and start posting. With my crammed non-art work schedule and spending 30+ hours on each page, that's the best I can do, unfortunately.

If you want to stalk my progress, I try to update this Google Sheet at least once a week.

Finally, I want to thank a few friends who graciously contributed their time to give me constructive feedback, without whom this chapter wouldn't have looked nearly as good as it does:

Alfafilly (Linktree) - Filly has an incredible comic of her own and has been an invaluable resource at the thumbnail stage. She also helped me get the pose right for the deer on page 6, which is my favorite this chapter!

Larch (FA) - Larch is a master of canine anatomy and helped me with countless little mistakes. Check out his work, it's beautiful!

Vindexrix (Bsky) - Vindexrix has a keen eye for placing objects and characters in perspective. My buildings, cars, and fire escapes would be all over the place without her advice. She also gives great tips on color and value. If you enjoy human and fantasy art, you should give her a follow!!
