Aww you bastard, are you tapping this song? I never got good at that. Sounds similar to John butlers "oceans" to me, very well done. Is it Some kind of open tuning?

I keep my Ibanez in approximately open Eb. I say "approximately" because I tune it once every month or so...and then just tune by ear until I pull it out to jam when my brother brings his bass and I have to tune it properly xP. There are about 5 acoustic guitars in our house all-together...so I keep my old, beat up Ibanez in this crazy tuning.

Daydreams and Our World were both played on this guitar as well, if you want to hear a few other examples of the open Eb.

It's mostly taps, yes ^^;;. Took me a little while to get used to playing this way, but it just sounds so pretty ^^.

Also, checked out Ocean...and it's a VERY similar playing style. Only difference is that I play with my left hand over the neck instead of under for most of the two-hand taps. Main difference is that Ocean is WAY cooler than my song xD.

Cools, I keep one of mine in open C for slide guitar. Ocean is definitely a very passionate song but yours is along the same lines. Definitely the same feel.

You'd be surprised...just try out an open tuning, and play around a bit. Keep an open mind, and don't focus on the notes themselves so much as what sounds good ^^.

Just got to try different playing styles...learning to do taps so that you can use your other hand to play another note at the same time. Granted, that took me a while...doing a completely different melody or pattern with each hand threw me off until I sat down and practiced like crazy xP. Or playing over-hand so that you can hammer a full bar of notes instead of just one at a time ^^.

Very nice piece, wonderful playing. Really like this sort of acoustic piece, just has a dreamlike quality to it almost.

Every once in a while I sit down with that old Ibanez and write something pretty...I'm not sure when I'll get around to writing another piece like this.
