It's how it always seems to go in fiction, the pretty intern leaves the ship alone with her camera and notepad then is never seen again. What happened, the crew never knows, just that the Captain changed shore leave rules to 'At least two or more together at all times, even if your taking a crap.'

In this case the pretty intern was taking research photos of various plant life, she happened to be wearing a rather brief outfit as pretty interns tend to do. As she set up her camera various non-plant life comes out of the woodwork. What is it with alien creatures and pretty Earth interns, one moment she's smiling, about to take a photo and the next she's gone without a sound. Oh well, she was a natural blond after all.

Blonds, like red shirts in Star Trek, so expendable.
