American Canine Alpha - Episode 9, "Neck Deep In The Real Deal" - Part 2
Ep 9, Part 1 || Archives || Ep 10, Part 1
The final six contenders of American Canine Alpha are in Gamboa, Panama for their last road trip of the season - and two grueling jungle challenges stand between them and the semifinals. With only four spots up for grabs, it’s every dog for himself as they battle through mangroves, kayaks, brain-bending puzzles, and the wild currents of the Chagres River. The stakes couldn’t be higher, and not everyone will escape the jungle unscathed.
We've gotten into the final stretch and like every week, we want to thank all of our readers and lurkers following us on this trip. Please don't be shy and let us know what you think of the story, the challenges, the big rewards and most importantly your winner picks! :)
Episode 10 - The Semifinal, "Attaboy", will be posted on Friday, August 22nd and Monday, August 25th!
Warning: contains blood and unsettling themes.

Glad you enjoyed him so much! Me and Harlow genuinely had a blast writing him and despite me having a lot of doubts during the whole writing process, it's clear he's the breakout star of the season we envisioned him becoming. He made it extremely far compared to expectations and I can say with fair certainty there will never be another Alpha like him. <3

Honestly, can't say I'm surprised Robbi made it this far. He's as resourceful as they can be and quite crafty when he needed to be. Sad to see my boy Robbi go, but hey, top five in a competition like this is nothing to scoff at.
Kinda surprised Dionte lost the breaching challenge. Dude was built like a boulder, but I guess everyone else getting a MASSIVE lead over him was one of the main downfalls.
I was really, really, REALLY worried when Kyle began retching. That really scared me, cause my brain was like 'Oh no, please don't let it end like this', cause a variety of scenarios were playing my mind and none of them were pretty. Glad to see he's still among the top best dogs around and still ready to prove an old dog can play with the best ;3

I can't put into words how much I love Robbi and I'm glad we had him on this season. He overperformed our expectations - I for once never expected it to make it to the green jerseys! - and was a constant source of fun and craziness. I also questioned a lot with Harlow if people would even "get" him and his antics, and I'm extremely happy that he was super beloved by you all!
Kyle's reaction comes from both the intense exertion of that challenge and possibly unwillingly gulping some of that lake water, but ultimately it was something he could overcome once he got it out of his system. This summer I took part in a 3K open water swimming race and ended up drinking some sea water because it was slightly choppy, which kinda messed up my stomach and throat for about a day :|
