For
tempersith" The blazing sun, the scorching sand and the warm breeze blowing through his fur told the mighty god that he had awoken once more.
He stood tall, gathering his thoughts and preparing for the journey ahead: a long walk to his solar barque, which would swiftly navigate the sand maze of the desert.
Soon enough, the sun was directly above him, reminding the god that the day was half over and that he would soon have to prepare for his duty. He kept going west ~~ that was where his destiny lay. On the horizon, he could already see the gate. Had seven or eight hours passed? Looking at the sky once more, he deduced that 11 hours had already passed.
The sun melted onto his fur like magma, creating tattoo-like patterns and imbuing him with unimaginable powers. He basked in his power for a few minutes before crossing the gate into the Duat. The golden, scorching sand quickly gave way to black, watery void that he dared not touch.
Apart from his presence, the ambience was devoid of light, and an ever-present hissing sound filled the air, like white noise. Rain poured from the river towards the sky. Observing its trajectory made him lay his eyes on the devilish creatures roaming the sky, unaware of his presence ~~ utter chaos.
He wore the sun on his fur for protection ~~ not for himself, but for the sun. The sun needed to cross the Duat to the east once more, since it couldn't rise from the west. Crossing the underworld was no small feat. On the way, he battled demons and stopped at some ports to help the damned reach Osiris. Perhaps this time he would succeed in his final task.
The god could see the exit, but a chill ran through his spine as the hissing reached a crescendo and abhorrent screeches echoed throughout the underworld. From the agitated waters of the Duat arose a terrifying creature born of nightmares: A gigantic snake with a thousand splintered fangs and human heads protruding from its belly ~~ the source of the screeches. It was chaos itself ~~ Apophis.
He held his fists in front of him, ready to fight. This time, he thought, he would finally be able to kill him. No, that didn't make sense. "Balance in all things", he muttered to himself, realizing that, in order for him, the creator of all things, to exist, so must the anti-god Apophis. They balanced each other. Accepting his fate, he closed his eyes and waited for the thousand knives to cut through him, restarting the journey all over again.
A black void, then ~~ the blazing sun, the scorching sands, and the warm breeze through his fur, told the mighty god that he had awoken once more... "
