Keeping the Peace (Kaiju Robot TF for caelanj13)
Part of a trade with
caelanj13 of their Robot Kaiju hybrid Ryujii getting his time to shine. Was super fun to work on.
“Mission report. August 6th, 2035, 12:00 hours. Nothing to report.”
Ryujii finished mentally typing up the message to headquarters before sending it, and letting out a mechanical sigh. He was standing idle at the Okinawa beachfront, his mechanical legs partially submerged in the tide. The city was bustling in the noon sunlight behind him, with citizens milling about and going about their business. It would be a rather normal day if not for Ryujii himself being there.
Ryujii was the latest prototype of the Peacekeeper Automaton developed by the Ryoushintatsu National Corporation for protecting the world from massive threats. As such, he was gigantic, towering above much of the city with only a few high rises able to match him in height. His white metal chassis sat over a thinner sea green frame that allowed for ease of movement. He had a blank white face that split down the middle, with his two great blue eyes resting on each side. Emblazoned on his right chestplate was the kanji for “Hero”, marking him as the latest prototype for the program.
He had been deployed out here for God knows how long, doing little more than just staring out at the sea with a mildly bored look. His stubby plated tail swayed in agitation behind him, just itching for something, anything to happen so he’d have an excuse to actually do his job.
Not even the occasional gawking looks from the nearby pedestrians earned him much enjoyment. If anything it felt almost humiliating to be seen doing nothing, like he wasn’t more than just a useless prototype.
Ryujii mentally kicked himself to keep his head in the game. He was useful. There was clear evidence of that from his past escapades. He was just in a bad spot mentally right now. All he wanted was something to do so he wasn’t just sending the ten millionth report to command about nothing happening at all.
Luckily (or unluckily depending on how you look at it), it seems his long wait was over.
His internal radar let out a pulse as it detected a strange mass appearing out in the distance above the ocean. A bad feeling washed over Ryujii as the pulse grew more powerful, indicating whatever was out there was mere moments from being visual. Then suddenly, it was as if the sky cracked open.
Nearby pedestrians stopped and pointed out to the sea as Ryujii narrowed his eyes to get a better look. The sky seemed to be fracturing at a point far out in the ocean, and from within the thin line that formed a blue light emerged that reflected off of Ryujii’s armor. More cracks and fractures appeared along the line as the sky itself seemed to be peeling away. The blue glow intensified and almost blinded Ryujii, but he managed to block much of the light with his forearm.
Then from the light emerged a great, blue mass. It was a vaguely circular shape that coiled with many tendrils all around its central body, which pulsed with blue and purple light. From the top of its body emerged two massive stalks, which were tipped with pitch black pinprick eyes. The great creature looked like a jellyfish, and would almost be comical in appearance if not for the fact it was nearly 5 times Ryujii’s size.
“O-oh dear.” Ryujii said meekly. This was a big one. An interstellar visitor it seemed. Or interdimensional. It was hard to tell. It cast a massive shadow over the ocean as it slowly floated over the sea towards Okinawa. Ryujii was mentally preparing himself for the possibility of battle. Maybe it’s friendly?
The jellyfish’s two eyestalks locked onto Ryujii, and in an instant its body quaked before it let out a warbling roar, which caused waves to billow out underneath it and the nearby clouds to part. The nearby cityfolk let out screams and began to run away from the coast while Ryujii braced from the force of the roar.
NOT FRIENDLY DEFINITELY NOT FRIENDLY Ryujii put up his fists and prepared for a fight as he sent a message to headquarters. In an instant alarms began ringing all across the city and Ryujii could hear the heavy metal grinding of the Kaiju Safety Shelters opening up. Now that there was an actual threat, his job was to buy time for everyone to get to safety, and once that was taken care of, he could do his job properly. At the edge of his screen, a counter showed up along with a map of the threatened area, showing how many citizens still had to get to safety. Right now it was 12,000, and dropping fast.
Ok. You can do this. Just like you’ve done before. Just buy time for the- Ryujii was so caught up in his thoughts he hadn’t noticed when the jellyfish monster had reached one of its tendrils deep into the water and coiled it around one of his legs. He was pulled off his feet and yanked out into the deeper ocean, landing on his tail and feeling a dull pain sensation as he was dragged along the seabed.
The monster lifted him out of the water upside down and began to reach another tendril towards him, but he was ready this time. In an instant he reached out his massive metal claws and slashed at the tendril. It quivered a bit and went limp as the monster roared again and let go of him. Ryujii belly flopped onto the surface of the ocean and felt a sharp pain spread all over his front. He wasn’t normally supposed to feel much pain, but for some reason hitting the surface of the water felt way worse than normal.
Population left: 8,578
Ryujii got up and dove out of the way of another tendril trying to stab at him, this one tipped with a massive claw. Ryujii managed to regain his balance and stand up, but he soon felt a dull aching sensation along his leg. He looked down and realized that the tendril that had grasped him had not only crumpled a bit of his armor, but it seemed to have reached the organic layer underneath and injected it with a potent neurotoxin. While this would have killed a normal human, this was only a dull ache for Ryujii. However, he could feel it slowly but surely sapping his strength as it wormed his way through his system. If he didn’t manage to defeat this creature soon, he would be toast.
Luckily, there would be a way to counteract the effects once the population were fully evacuated into the shelters. His organic form was capable of expanding and transforming into a much more powerful body, which he could use to dispel the toxin within him, But he would need to wait, as during his bouts of transformed power he tended to completely disregard collateral damage. The last thing he needed was to crush people underfoot while trying to protect them.
Population remaining: 5045
The creature roared again and began floating towards the city. Ryujii managed to get back in front of it and gripped two of its tendrils. He could feel a stinging sensation as it tried to crush his armor and inject the toxin into his flesh, but he ignored it as he yanked with all his might towards the sea bed. The monster ended up tilting forward and let out a surprised gurgle as Ryujii released his grip, held up his fist, and drove it into the creature’s eyestalk.
It recoiled back from the blow with a loud gurgling scream as several tendrils reached up to soothe the damaged eye. Ryujii let out a slight chuckle and held up his fists again.
“What? Are you done already?!” he asked, his voice cracking a bit when he saw the creature look back at him with fury burning in its eyes. It reached up several of its tendrils above its head and seemed to go still for a moment, before above it formed a blue ball of crackling energy.
“...wait, we can talk about this-” Ryujii started before the orb was launched at him at incredible speed. It slammed into his chest and sent him flying backwards across the ocean before he crashed down on the beachfront. His body crumbled the sea wall underneath him while his head drove straight into a thankfully empty restaurant, which collapsed on top of his face to add insult to injury. Ryujii let out a few mechanical coughs from the blow (which wasn’t really necessary as he didn’t need to breathe nor cough) as he struggled to get up.
Population left: 1387
Just a bit longer. Ryujii managed to get up and almost yelped when he saw the creature floating right above him. It began to reach its tendrils down to wrap around him as he swatted them away with his hands and feet. He managed to regain his balance and gripped a truck that was parked nearby before tossing it straight into the creature's underside. It seemed to bounce off its body, but it was effective at stopping the creature’s assault for just a moment. Enough time for Ryujii to grasp a nearby tree and drive it straight into its bulbous flesh.
The creature roared again and swatted him back to the ground with its tendrils, but he was ready this time as he deflected them with his arms before bashing his shoulder into the creature’s belly. It flew backwards from the blow and flipped over itself before crashing down into the ocean, sending a titanic wave across the beach and shorefront of the town.
The creature seemed stunned and its tendrils waved wildly in the air as it began trying to get back up. Ryujii stood up again ready to fight back when all of a sudden his body locked up and he fell back down to his knees. He held up his upper body with his arms on the massive beach as he could feel his body stiffening by the second.

The creature was getting up again. Ryujii was trying to get up but he couldn’t. The toxins locked his internal muscles and flesh and he could do little more than angrily stare at the ground.

The creature was getting back up. Ryujii panted and struggled to move. Just a little more time, and…
Population left: 0. Zone clear.
Ryujii mentally grinned, and focusing deep into his core, he willed it to unleash his true power.
In an instant, Ryujii’s body stiffened with a much more pleasant sensation, and began to bubble. Flesh underneath his metal armor felt like it was shifting as slowly but surely, he was beginning to grow. His armor creaked and groaned from the internal growth while his sea green under armour began to feel a touch tight.
“Ohhhh… that feels… nice…” Ryujii said to himself. He could feel nerve endings erupt all across his internal flesh, quickly sending jolts of pain from the neurotoxin up into his brain, but slowly they dulled as adrenaline and dopamine alike began to flow through his veins, which burned a crimson red. Ryujii groaned a bit as he could feel his armor pressing into his flesh. Especially on the bottom of his feet, where a multitude of nerve endings blossomed.
CRRRKKKK!!! PING! In an instant a plate of his white armor around his elbow popped off from the pressure as the pulsating green armor bulged out underneath. A large spike shaped mass formed and pushed against the material, then with one loud rip it tore through, revealing a deep blue spike. A matching one appeared on his other elbow, popping out much the same.
This seemed to be the signal his body needed, as all along his back the plate armor began to crack and shatter as more spikes formed underneath and pressed against it. Ryujii dug his claws into the sand below and let out a light moan as the spike pushed through the armor like it was butter. More still popped out of his shoulders and thighs, and served to help break up the armor to make the rest of the transformation easier.
The spikes kept forming along his back, popping off his armor with loud pings and snaps before it reached his stubby tail, which seemed to be quivering and shaking from within. Then, each of its ringed white plates began to stretch and snap as the internal flesh bulged and grew out. A large spike pushed through the metal as it exposed the dark purple flesh underneath, which bulged out and strained to escape its confinement.
Then, with a loud and satisfying pop, the armor around his tail finally gave way and out snaked his brilliantly grown new limb. It coiled into the sky behind him, growing spikes along its supple purple flesh while the tip of it bloomed into three possible fingers of sorts, tipped with deep blue claws. His tail landed with a loud thump behind him and grew out some more as Ryujii continued to grow.
“Ugh… this feels so… so…mrrrgg!” Ryujii grumbled a bit as he could feel his metallic mask beginning to buckle slightly. Spikes grew out of the base of his neck and along the back of his head while he could feel the underarmor surronding his neck getting tighter. His face began to bulge out at the bottom, which he could feel press into his faceplate and begin to make it bend some more. Then with a great split, the bottom of his mask split into two sharpened mandibles, revealing his gaping maw with razor sharp teeth and a great coiling tongue.
“Ah ha ha! So good! I could do this forever!” he said, feeling his blood racing and heart pounding. His eyes shifted to a bright red as his armor around his neck snapped and burst open, revealing his muscular neck. The growth worked its way down his body as he looked down to see his hands getting larger by the second. His armor was doing its best to remain intact, but he could feel his fingers twitching and stretching, desperately clawing to get out of his armor. And so he willed it so, and the rest followed.
In an instant, his forearms stretched out from his body, tearing up the armor along them while his newly grown claws and fingers split open his armor, digging out into the sand before him. His three great claws on each hand continued to stretch and grow as his body followed suit.
SHRRRIIIPPP!! Armor plating snapped and stretched and under armor tore away as his torso grew even more, stretching his remaining armor thin. His stomach, now packed with great muscle, tore through the center of his armor with ease as his body and legs stretched and grew. The jellyfish monster was thankfully taking its sweet time getting back up, so he had plenty of time to savor the transformation. Beyond taking down big monsters, this is what he lived for.
His legs stretched out behind him and his feet hung and swayed in the air as he could feel his legs stretching and growing. Spikes drew up across the front of his legs while his knees began to split his armor open, exposing yet more of his supple flesh. His armor around his feet began to creak and groan as his toes and soles pressed and squished into the metal.
“Oughh! That feels… so tight!” Ryujii couldn’t help but blush a bit as he felt his toes creaking and pushing into the metal armor, feeling it split and snap and bend around his growing muscle. His calves began to split down the sides as deep purple flesh bulged out of the openings, pulsating with crimson red veins.
“Almost there… just gotta… auh!” The metal soles of his armor began to seperate from the top as his feet began to bulge and spill out of the openings. His armor grew tighter still and he scrunched up his toes as he could feel it make its final push.
CRRRKKKKK!!! SNAP! POP! SHRRRIPPP! In an instant, his armor aorund his feet exploded off, falling to the bottom of the beach as his massive prehistile claws popped out fully. The two front claws curled and stretched as they dug into the beach while his single back claw flexed itself to get the remaining armor off. The soles of his armor fell pathetically to the ground behind him and he kicked them away as his body began to finalize its changes.
“URRGGGGGHHH… hehehe… I am… SO READY…FOR THIS” Ryujii felt his condifence skyrocket as his voice got deeper. His body bulged and billowed out, stretching his armor thin across his frame as he began to get up. He put his foot underneath him, feeling the soft sand along his numerous new nerve endings and shuddering with delight, before he pushed himself up. He held his arms at his side and curled his tail up as his body pushed and grew one last time. Then, with his feet firmly planted in the sand, he let out a mighty roar that shook the very foundations of the town. Now nearly triple his original height, with his armor barely intact and his new form ready, he was prepared to take on anything now.
TOXIN LEVELS CRITICAL
“Oh right almost forgot about that.” Ryujii said with a chuckle. He clenched his fists and concentrated as he felt his body sweat off the toxin through the pores of his skin, easily cleaning his system and allowing him to withstand much higher dosages of it.
As Ryujii cracked his knuckles and the jellyfish monster finally got back up from the ocean, he heard the familiar whirl of chopper blades and looked up to see a fleet of news helicopters apporaching. They all began to give a wide birth to the scene below them and began recording the oncoming battle, which made Ryujii gleeful. He couldn’t help but flex and pose a bit to the cameras, basking in the lens flare, before turning his attention back to the monster.
Now fully recovered, its two eye stalks focused back onto Ryujii and burned with rage as it let out another massive roar, but this time Ryujii stood his ground and merely squinted his eyes to maintain focus on the creature. It began to float across the waves towards him, but he held up his claws and began to charge towards it in turn, kicking up a sandstorm’s worth of sand in the process.
As thye got within range, the monster lashed out with more tendrils, but Ryujii was ready. He ducked and weaved through the salvo before bringing up his claws and slashing down on a bundle of them. They seperated from the creature’s main body and disspitated into a fine vapourous mist, causing it to screech again and lash out wiht even more tendrils. Ryujii dodged and slashed them away from him as he did his best to maintain focus and not get caught by them again. His blubber would help protect from more of the toxin, but it would hurt like a bitch now with all his nerves fired up.
“Come on! Is that the best you got!” he roared to the creature as he cut away more tendrils still. The creature responded by bringing up more of the clawed tendrils before slashing towards his body with it. He managed to backstep away from the blow and landed back in the water, feeling his feet bury partially into the sand beneath and waves flow out from him with every step.
More clawed tendrils attempted to slash him, but as soon as one got close enough he whipped his tail to the front and gripped it firmly, wincing a bit as he felt toxins get injected into his body. With great haste, he yanked the tendril back as hard as he could and felt it seperate from the creatures body, soon turning into a fine mist.
Not wanting to lose any more tendrils, the creature seemed to back off for a moment before summoning yet another electric orb. Instead of backing down like before, Ryujii instead stood his ground and instead concentrated on his body. He could feel his slippery flesh suddenly harden with several metallic scales, which glimmered in the sunlight and would serve their purpose well. The creature charged up its orb to full power and then, with a slight flick of its tendrils, launched it towards Ryujii.
Ryujii held up his arms and grabbed the orb firmly, feeling his flesh singe a bit from the raw power of it. Yet instead of exploding, the orb instead shrunk as his scales conducted the energy along themselves and began to absorb it. Ryujii felt his body tickle as the electricity lapped against his nerve endings and couldn’t help but laugh a little bit. But soon enough the whole orb was abosrbed, and Ryujii crackled with electricity all along his body and right below his armor.
The monster seemed confused from Ryujii’s continued existence, and settled for using its tendrils once more. But Ryujii was waiting for this. Just as the monster lashed out with more tendrils, he raised up his right foot and slammed it down on a whole clump of them, locking the monster in place. His claws wrapped around the tendrils as they squired and tried to get away, but his iron grip kept the creature from moving any further. Then in a very non-copyright infringing way, he held his arms at his side and crouched over as he concentrated all the electric energy into the palms of his hands.
“EAT THIS, JELLY FREAK!” he shouted, before pushing his arms forward and launching all of the electric energy in the form of a high powered beam of light. The beam hit the mosnter square in the center of its body before melting through its flesh and popping out of the other side, continuing on into the vast expanse of the sky behind it and thankfully missing all of the nearby choppers.
The beam dissipated and Ryujii let out a feel heavy breaths as he looked up at the creature. It was perfectly still with a massive hole burnt through its entire body, then all of its tendrils and eyestalks went limp before it suddenly flopped down into the ocean, soon dissipating into a massive cloud of vapor.
“Whew… That’s a job well done I’ll say.” Ryujii said cheerfully as he felt his body still tingling from the toxin and electricity. He managed to disperse the rest of it and walked back to shore as he could hear the rattle of the military arriving to assist with cleanup. Thankfully there was little damage done to the city, save for some unfortunate beachside buisnesses that got wrecked and the whole of the beach having a massive imprint of Ryujii’s claws and footsteps (in addition to his scraps of armor all over the place).
Ryujii sat down on the beach with his legs in front of him and hands at his side while letting his tail come to rest behind him. He stretched out his legs fully, taking satisfaction from feeling his claws dip into the ocean water and brush against the sand beneath. In fact, now that he and the citizens were no longer in mortal danger, he could truly relax in his altered form.
He began rubbing his claws against each other, feeling his bulbous flesh against the soles of his feet as it helped him to calm down. Like a fine massage, his tension settled and his body felt loose as he kept rubbing and flexing his toes, making sure to dip them into the water to keep them nice and cool in the afternoon sunlight. Soon enough the military would arrive and he’d have to help with cleanup (which was rather boring compared to punching monsters in the face), so he figured he’d just enjoy what little freetime he had.
Ryujii let out another contented sigh and just looked out towards the endless sea before him, savoring the view.

“Mission report. August 6th, 2035, 12:00 hours. Nothing to report.”
