⦁ Biography: Maritza is one of the many 1/2 Mermaids born to Junichiro & Palutena, being born a day after Nawfar was born, making her part of the 3rd line of 1/2 Mermaids born to the family. Like Sereia, Maritza had grown up deciding that she wanted to be a relic hunter since she was a little girl, but she wanted to specialize in hunting for relics down in jungles, even if there were ruins in said jungles; not caring if jungles were home to quicksand & snakes, or other hazards. Even so, Maritza did learn how to protect herself while in the jungle. However, while a sword & spear were among the weapons Maritza learned how to fight with, she found herself to be more magically inclined than Sereia is, so she picked up knowledge on Hydromancy & Geomancy. In addition, she also learned how to cast Jungle Magic, yet she tapped into its potential more than Sereia had. Even so, Martiza eventually joined her other sisters who had Sequin Land motifs to assist Shantae herself in protecting the peace there, in addition to protecting her own homeworld of Olympus. As is to be expected from those in Juni's family, Maritza is a very friendly girl, inheriting only the best traits from both of her parents. She's certainly a gentle soul at heart, like her mother, hardly ever raising her voice. As a result, Maritza is a rather quiet one, and can be shy at times around new people. Maritza loves to partake in expeditions that involve jungles, especially if the jungle has the promising signs of ruins. She also enjoys work in paleontology & archeology as well. However, she detests pirates and tomb raiders. Like a handful of her sisters, Martiza is a proven absolute mudlark, always on the watch for quicksand to sink her in for the sheer enjoyment, and she openly gets excited when she discovers signs of it. Has a big flower fossil collection.
⦁ Abilities: Being 1/2 Mermaid, Maritza is capable of transforming into her mermaid form the moment she enters the water. As a mermaid, like all her other 1/2 mermaid siblings, she has excellent swimming speed, can breathe underwater without the need to surface for air; though she & her other sisters form gills to help with this, too, and she can commune with aquatic creatures of any kind. However, she primarily transforms in fresh, or seawater. And like her mother & siblings, Maritza strongly prefers the water to be clean before she thinks about transforming. Martiza is a talented Relic Hunter as she can easily decipher relics from certain eras without the need for lengthy carbon dating work just by looking at it. However, Martiza specializes in fossilized plants rather than bones. Martiza obviously has a fighting style as well; one adapted to not only fend off her foes, but also to survive in the jungles. Compared to Sereia however, Maritza is more magically gifted and rarely fights physically. However, Martiza does know her way around a sword & spear, and is good with a longbow as well. She begins with the following gear & magics.
⦁ Jungle Sabre: A saber with a good fit for fighting in jungles. This sword isn't as curved as Sereia's scimitar is, but it gets the job done regardless.
⦁ Jungle Hasta: A spear suited for jungle combat. It's a decent thrusting weapon, and it is light enough to be thrown as well.
⦁ Forest Longbow: A long bow well suited for shooting in wooded areas, such as forests & jungles. Maritza has amazing aim with the arrows she shoots from her bow.
⦁ Jungle Magic: A type of magic that enables Maritza to bring forth any aspect of a jungle in her vicinity when necessary. It ranges from growing trees to summoning snakes. However, she favors making pits of quicksand with it. Maritza is far more skilled with this magic than Sereia is.
⦁ Hydromancy: The power of water magic. Maritza is already capable of manipulating water on a whim like her mother & other 1/2 mermaid siblings can to a degree, but Priscilla comes close to being one of the best users of Hydromancy tying with Nebula & Shizue and others, being beaten only by her Mermaid Archsage mother Palutena. Even so, some of Maritza's Water spells include Cure Water, Water Blast, Crystal, and Wave Crash.
⦁ Geomancy: Maritza is a gifted geomancer, being a master of bending the earth to her will to attack her foes. Many of her spells include, but not limited to: Boulder, Stone Edge, Mud Bomb, Earth Slide, Gem Missile, Stone Saber, Diamond Shards, Quicksand, and Earthquake.
