The spider is in a peculiar situation. After failing to rob a casino for the umpteenth time, the staff decided that kicking her out wouldn't be enough. One very quick compression later, and she would find herself a shiny ball that someone can easily hold in their hand. She would be quickly put to use, made to roll around a roulette wheel.
Frankly, she didn't mind at all, and in fact enjoyed being made to land on a peculiar number. Probably would explain some complaints of a ball bouncing a bit too much in the opposite direction at times...
