I managed to actually get an icon done for myself on my personal art day. I'm not sure if I like it as an icon? But I do like it as a stand alone piece and it's heading in the general direction of digital shading I want to mess with again (the brighter, lighter and crisp colours).

I should have made the pupil darker, and going forward I probably need to make sure I have more contrast between the character and the background. I did do some quick fixes for the icons, but this is the version I still prefer a bit more. The background was just messing with some of the default Procreate brushes.
