A lot of the traps seem to have a theme of being dependent on someone else to fix. Plushie, Teir 3 Pooltoy, Trap-Trap, Treasure, and Treat and Box all require another pokemon to help you out.
Maybe it's to force bigger groups into the dungeon and spread food thinner to make it harder. Who knows
