Aw look! I've fun across a field of ghost paws, and they like me! This is sure to lead to a happy outcome, look how much fun it looks like already!
This is mostly a skills-development picture, partly to see if I could draw a spectral form in some way that was more interesting than turning the opacity down on a layer. I think so; these paws were made by using the luminous pen for the outline, and then the luminous brush on the inside.
Other skills? One of the things in the gold-Austin icon that I tried out and liked was roughing up the figure outlines a little, adding a couple tufts of fur to things. So this picture there's tufts everywhere. ... More or less. But the ears and elbows particularly have tufts and I think that's helping the figure out. Also, a layer of lines using the sable brush gives a look that's maybe not actually fur but is more interesting than the flood fill of color underneath.
I wanted to do something with the sky that made it look like it was going into a strange new world but all I did do was learn how to make a gradient blur in ProCreate. (Put splotches of different colors down and then apply a Gaussian blur to the whole layer.)
