My third piece for the Eurofurence 29 Artshow!

Gosh, it was a bit of a struggle coming up with what to put in my A4 frame (I had been working on my artshow illustrations for a while now and was starting to feel a smidge creatively drained), so went to my art inspo folders in hopes of getting inspired. And so I came out of that session with the elements Giant Creature with Little Creature, unicorn, birch trees, and swampy land. And so this birch-patterned unicorn creature with their tiny deer friend appeared.

This painting was pretty challenging - I bought this paper out of curiosity, and it doesn't actually handle watercolours well (Action products can sometimes be good! But this is not). To me the most amusing part is the artifical texture pressed into the paper.

This painting has definitely inspired me to draw more giant unicorn creatures! And Giant Beasties in general.

Was my first time working with my new tube of Titanium Buff watercolour - it's great as a base and it helped create that atmospheric perspective :3
