Guilt is an emotion only creatures with a soul can feel, eh Joachim. After this event, he couldn't bring himself to use his power on people anymore. Denying his psychic gift so hard, eventually the butterflies faded away. Magic is all about willpower. Joachim willed his psychic power away.
