A few years ago I commissioned an artist named
yamigriffin. I did not know the artist, but she produced a beautiful line sketch for me you can see here, an amazing piece of art that never got finished until today.
As luck would have it, the artist disappeared for awhile. I searched for the artist at conventions, online, and pretty much had thought that she left the fandom, which made me sad because she is such an incredibly gifted artist. I can only assume life issues were the cause, as almost always they are.
But she came back to FA after a long hiatus, contacted me and she resumed the sketch to a lovely monochromatic colouring of "The Celestial Dragon." It is an unbelievable piece, worthy of praise! I hope that you will all someday consider her artistic talents for a commission. especially now, since her printer died. Please go here for commissions and donations for a new printer.
This commission taught me a lot about life; my own and others'. Sometimes our own work (MW and I) gets sidetracked because of life issues, my mental health, financial worries, and all of the real-life stuff that we forget to take into account. People wait, People stay patient, People get impatient, tempers flare, and I feel like a failure when I miss any deadline. What starts as a small setback becomes a mountainous guilt-trip which robs me of any self-esteem and confidence. I end up blaming myself, not MuscleWolf. And I end up avoiding being creative, which is a terrible trap to get into.
Life is a journey. You can dance and sing or sit in a corner, feeling sorry for yourself.
