Hi so, back for my monthly “hey I haven’t blown my shit clean off yet” check in. In honour of my favourite Soviet rock band and rockstar, I drew Kino’s Viktor Tsoi, unfortunately didn’t do him much justice, but drawing it helped me out of an art block. I could go on and on about this man and how much he means to me. It may be dramatic but both him and the band saved my life. Kino also inspired me to study Russian as a third language and minor in Slavic Studies, as well as learn about Eastern Europe/Eurasia. Also idk why this is uploading sideways, I hate this site.
Anyways, among other things, I take Kino’s music and messages to heart. The band means the absolute world to me (hell I have two tattoos dedicated to them, one replacing what would have been a semicolon). I was far too young to witness Viktor while he was alive, but I am fortunate enough to get to know and love his legacy. I have the fortune to miss someone I will never know because he gave a beautiful gift to rock music, and to the world. Спокойной ночи, легенда.
