Gareth is one of the oldest residents on the island it took him a few years to get used to living on the island not just because of his immobility and intolerance to water but also because he was innocent compared to all the other island's residents and hated that being around criminals and monsters he holed himself up in a cave and refused to interact with anyone. however things changed when he began to be visited by members of the island's 'Chess kingdom' who mistook his wizard persona for being such that and began to ask him for spells and miracles. despite his protests they kept visiting him and opened up to him and he soon came to learn that these folks were more then just the crimes that got them put here like he was. he would later have his cave reconstructed into a proper home and shelter and within his pages he writes down the stories of all residents no matter who they are so that they can be remembered for who they are and not what they did.
